The Formers

Never really been the photographer that always took pictures of his girlfriends. I mean One ( The color image)of these images is of many that my ex and now good close friend and fellow photographer. We were in school in the photo department together. She was the easiest person to just use when needing a female model. Also, she was the only model that I think I will ever get advice, and lighting assistance from. The other just ended up as a drunken night with a camera, and was asked the " Why don't you ever take pictures of me, when you have so many of her"? Question. I think it was more of the booze talking and I said ok loaded up the Nikon and shoot some really ummm I would say bad photos. I used only the ones I thought were save-able.
I love shooting women for models and I always have used myself when it comes to men. I need to grow some balls and start asking around for people to shoot. It's good practice and the body is something that is always interesting to photograph.

TRACKS ALONG THE RIVERSIDE.

There is something about train tracks that I have always loved. Good thing Richmond has a lot. There are songs and stories all about the Richmond train tracks. I kind of love the shapes they make in their path and the danger of walking along them. How their one of the oldest forms of American transport and most of the time they are adorned with graffiti from all over the east cost. The sound of trains also makes a nice relaxing tone through the city at night.A calm haunting hum in the dark distance. I guess its something cliche about the city, but I like it.

NON-PHOTO ART WOrk#2

NON-PHOTO ART WOrk#1

This is just some of my non-photographic art. #1 is an old image of me from about 8 years ago. It was originally part of a photo series. I was cutting all my hair off as I was going bald at a young age. BUMMER I know but it was a fun project. The other is from one of my obsessions with octopus. ENJOY! more to come.

OREGON HILL AT NIGHT, AND SOME OLDIES REWORKED

ANOTHER HOLGA IMAGE FROM SOMETIME I SPENT LIVING IN THE OREGON HILL NEIGHBORHOOD IN RICHMOND. A VERY NIGHT AND VERY STRANGE TIMES. THE OTHER IMAGES ARE FROM SOME NEGATIVES THAT I TOOK ABOUT 9 YEARS AGO AND REWORKED SOME OF THE THEM. I ENJOY THEM STILL AND FEEL I COULD WORK WITH SOMETHING IN THE STYLE AGAIN. ALSO I PLAN ON USING SOME OF THIS SNOW THAT WE HAVE ON THE GROUND FOR SOME INTERESTING HOLGA IMAGES. I HAVE SOME EXPIRED 120 FILM THAT I KNOW WILL MAKE SOME COOL IMAGES.

Snow Daze!

The second snow has come to Richmond VA for this winter. I really hope this is the last one. Richmond is not a city equipped for snow storms. It's one of those places that when it snows people go crazy. There are drunken parties, stores and goods and services packed to wall to wall. People get all jazzed up that school and work is canceled, and other think the Four Horsemen are coming around there mountain when they come. I will admit I like it for about a day then the beauty of it goes away and it looks like one gross mess. I've always thought that it looks like a Pena Calida and coke Slurpee was spilled all over the town. A white and brown color that seems kind of dirty and gross. I took some photos of the early stages of winter wonderland. I think that I am over it for the winter.
My birthday is a week from today and I am OK with this whole turning 31 thing. Last year I had some fears, but also had one hell of a year. It's like your birthday is a personal New Years. I have things I know I should be doing better, and things that just take time to get off the ground. I hope that 31 is better, and at the same time brings me new adventures. Well enjoy the pictures and hope the thaw comes quick and this is the last snow of the winter.
